Crews responded to a fire in the 1600 block of Morris Road SE when a blaze broke out in the upper floors of a three-story apartment building, according to authorities.

Investigators say that the fire was caused by a result of HVAC work that was being conducted at the building.

The fire was under control by 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

No injuries were reported, though DC Fire and EMS officials said that residents of the building will be displaced due to roof damage.
